Yeehaw? Posters

When Yahoo! launched an ad campaign late in 2004 to promote their new "Yahoo! Local" search capabilities. They used somewhat unusual pairings to demonstrate the power of their new product. Some examples included mappings of strip clubs and nearby ATM's or financial advisors and nearby fortune tellers. I decided to use Yahoo's own tool to create relationships between seemingly unrelated locations, and created the "Yeehaw?" posters below.

Truth in Advertising Poster

This project came about as a reaction to the Sauza Hornitos Tequila "Teaser Campaign" that ran in 1998. The orginal billboard series offered enticing but vague bits of information about the product. I didn't realize the product was a brand of tequilla until the first agave plant ad appeared. Having been manipulated by the campaign, I decided to exercise my own brand of billboard liberation and re-created the billboards with a more honest message.
